Are you 'mad as hell'?

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore" is the famous line uttered by Howard Beale (Peter Finch) from the movie 'NETWORK'.

In a sense it describes how I came back into politics after 4 decades of absence. I was 'mad as hell' with the Conservative Government and wasn't going to 'take it anymore'. You probably noticed that after 2016 the Conservative Party started on its journey to abandon all pretence of being a serious political party. I thought they'd reached their desintation in 2019 with Mr. Johnson, but then they 'gifted' us Liz Truss. Surely her economy busting idiocy was the end of the road for a party that used to set some store by careful consideration and caution. Alas I was deceived.

Prime Minister Sunak's abandonment of any pretence he wishes to address the climate crisis illustrates that whenever we think the Conservative Party has reached the end of the road for lunacy, actually there are miles more to travel!

I thought I'd got over shouting at the TV. I thought I could no longer be shocked by this Conservative Government. I thought I was immune from getting angry at the latest 'culture war wedge'. But in one short, deceitful press conference Sunak proved me wrong.

Once again I am 'mad as hell' and resolved not to 'take this anymore'. My determination to unseat this bankrupt and moribund Conservative Party and expel the local Conservative MP has been kindled anew. If like me you are also 'mad as hell' please sign up to help me do our bit to get rid of the Conservatives. We really don't have to take it anymore.
