Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Central Devon, Cllr. Sally Morgan recently had the honour of meeting Tul Bahdur Pun VC who won the Victoria Cross fighting for Britain in the Gurkha Rifles during the Second World War.

Tul Bahdur Pun is only one of 10 living recipients of this country's highest award for valour and now, along with Joanna Lumley, he is fighting for the rights of comrades to live in the UK.

Cllr Morgan says "Britain has had no greater friends than the Gurkhas. They have served across the world in defence of our Country for nearly 200 years. It was a great honour to meet Tul Bahadur Pun and I too am supporting his campaign."

The High Court ruled recently that their treatment by the Government had been unlawful in terms of their right to live in the UK if they retired before 1997. The law must now change. Over 45000 gurkhas died in two World Wars as part of the British Army and they are still fighting today.

You can join the campaign and add your name to it by visiting the Gurkha Justice website www.gurkhajustice.org.uk Please sign up for justice.
